Thank You
PaperWerks was founded in 1990 by Joan Love-Davis, originally as a medical billing company. Joan’s natural talent for numbers and her dedication to helping others quickly led her to expand into income tax preparation—a service she first honed by handling her own family’s returns. As her reputation grew, so did her client base. Joan became a trusted advisor to many of West Texas’s most successful business owners, known for her legendary business insight and practical wisdom.
In 2008, PaperWerks evolved into a limited liability company, marking a new chapter as one of the few multi-generational African American family businesses in West Texas. This transition was led by Joan and her son, John B Love III. From 2008 to 2015, John worked alongside Joan, learning the art and science of tax preparation, tax strategy, and business consulting directly from her.
Today, John continues the PaperWerks brand, building on his mother’s foundation of integrity, personal service, and expert advice. John is a Summa Cum Laude graduate with a B.A. in Economics from UTPB, a QuickBooks Online Certified ProAdvisor, and holds Series 7, Series 6, Series 63, and Series 65 securities licenses. With over 20 years of combined experience in taxes, accounting, and business growth strategies, John is committed to helping individuals, families, and business owners keep more of what they earn.
At PaperWerks.Tax, our mission is simple:
"It's not how much you make, it's how much you KEEP!"
We proudly serve clients across West Texas and nationwide, offering personalized tax solutions, business advice, and financial guidance grounded in decades of experience and a family tradition of excellence.
